Clash Verge Rev Download and Setup: Official Source, Install, Subscriptions, Fixes
If you searched for clash verge, clash verge github, the official site, or clashverge, two things first: the only official download is GitHub Releases (the site has docs only), and there is no mobile version. This page covers the sources, which file to pick per system, importing a subscription, the common faults, and which provider to use with Clash Verge.

The short answer
Clash Verge Rev (often written Clash Verge, ClashVerge or clash-verge) is the most common desktop Clash client today: Windows, macOS and Linux, on the mihomo core, open source (GPL-3.0). Its docs are explicit — it is released only through GitHub Releases — and the site www.clashverge.dev hosts documentation, not installers, so any result labelled "clash verge official download" is not official. There is no Android or iPhone build: use FlClash on Android, and see the Shadowrocket page for iPhone. The original Clash Verge (zzzgydi) was archived in November 2023 and the Clash for Windows repository no longer exists; Rev is the one still maintained.
Which sources are official, and which are not
"Official site", "mirror" and "official download" dominate this search family, so start by sorting real from fake.
| Source | Official? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| GitHub Releases (clash-verge-rev/clash-verge-rev) | Yes (the only release channel) | Expand the latest release's Assets and pick the file for your system; each installer has a same-named .sig file beside it, the signature the auto-updater verifies. |
| www.clashverge.dev | Yes (official docs) | Install guide and the Windows / macOS / Linux FAQs live here; it hosts no installers. |
| WinGet / Scoop (Windows command line) | Yes | The two command-line install routes the official docs list. |
| Sites labelled "clash verge official download" or "clash verge mirror" | No | The project runs no mirror. Such installers cannot be checked against the GitHub original — for software that handles all your traffic, that is the one thing worth being strict about. |
| zzzgydi/clash-verge (the original) | No (archived) | Stopped in November 2023, read-only. "clash verge" today almost always means Rev. |
| Clash for Windows | No (repository gone) | See "Coming from Clash for Windows" below. |
Is there an Android or iPhone version? — No
Clash Verge Rev is built on Tauri and exists only for desktop (Windows / macOS / Linux); no Android or iOS build has ever been released. The many searches for "clash verge android", "clash verge apk" and "clash verge 手机版" match no official file — any apk you find is not official.
- Android: FlClash, also on the mihomo core, imports a Clash subscription directly; Clash Meta for Android works too.
- iPhone: see the Shadowrocket page (neither Shadowrocket nor Clash Mi is on the China-region App Store).
- The subscription link is the same one — no need to ask your provider for a new one when you change devices.
Requirements by system, and which file to pick
Version numbers are left out on purpose — they go stale within weeks; the GitHub release page is the reference. What you need to get right: x64 vs arm64 on Windows, x64 vs aarch64 on Mac, deb vs rpm on Linux.
| System | Minimum | Architectures | Which file |
|---|---|---|---|
| Windows | 10 / 11 (Windows 7 unsupported; the docs say upgrade) | x64, arm64 — no 32-bit build | Usually x64-setup.exe; arm64-setup.exe on ARM machines. The fixed_webview2 variants bundle WebView2 and are only for systems that lack it and cannot install it. |
| macOS | 12 or later | Intel (x64) / Apple silicon (aarch64) | The matching .dmg. Unsure which chip: Apple menu → About This Mac. |
| Linux | The docs list the Debian / Ubuntu / Deepin, CentOS / Fedora / SUSE and Arch families | x64, arm64, armv7 | .deb on Debian-family, .rpm on RHEL-family. Ubuntu 20.04 fails to install — see the fixes below. |
Clash Verge setup: import a subscription and turn the proxy on
- 1
Get the link
- Copy it from your provider's dashboard, or ask support
- App-only providers have no such link
- 2
Import
- Profiles → New → paste the link → Import
- Wait for the node list to appear
- 3
Enable
- Turn on System Proxy in Settings
- Default mixed port 7897; enable TUN only when you need to capture all traffic
Menu names change between versions; follow the interface in the version you installed.
Coming from Clash for Windows?
Clash for Windows is no longer maintained and its author deleted the repository at the end of 2023, so no official channel exists — every "clash for windows download" you can still find is a third-party mirror, and with the original gone there is no way to check whether a mirrored file was altered.
Moving to Clash Verge Rev costs almost nothing: it reads the same Clash YAML, so your existing provider subscription link pastes straight in — no new link from the provider, no format conversion — and profiles, rules and routing follow the same ideas.
When GitHub won't load
This is the real problem behind the "clash verge mirror" searches. Honestly: the project is released only on GitHub, there is no official mirror, and a third-party "mirror" installer cannot be checked against the original — the same point as the Clash for Windows section above.
Two routes. One: get GitHub reachable first — that is exactly what a provider is for, so get a working line before you download the client, not the other way round (the FAQ has an entry on reaching a provider's site without one). Two: if you cannot reach GitHub at all right now, the providers tagged "own app" in the picks below don't need Clash — install their own app and you're online.
Which provider for Clash Verge? Start with these 3 — buy now
Clash Verge can only import a provider's subscription link: to use it, pick one that issues a link; if GitHub won't even load, pick one with its own app. 10 of the 16 providers we list offer only their own dedicated app, so Clash Verge can't use them.

Common faults and fixes
All of these come from the official FAQ, grouped by system.
| System | Symptom | Cause and fix |
|---|---|---|
| Windows | "This app can't run on your PC" | Wrong architecture — in the docs' words, 99.99% of the time you downloaded arm64 instead of x64. |
| Windows | Launches to a tray icon only, blank window | WebView2 removed or disabled. Reinstall WebView2, or use the fixed_webview2 installer. |
| Windows | Crashes during install | Chinese antivirus (360, Kingsoft) blocking the service install. |
| Windows | Proxy list is empty | Kernel communication failure. The official fix is to disable the Windows firewall entirely and re-enable it. |
| Windows | No internet unless Clash is running | An unclean exit left the system proxy on. Settings → Network & Internet → Proxy → turn off "Use a proxy server". |
| Windows | Microsoft Store and other UWP apps bypass the proxy | The UWP sandbox blocks loopback. Settings → UWP tool → tick the app. |
| Windows | Network breaks after enabling TUN | Too many adapters or clashing subnets. Remove unused virtual adapters. |
| Windows | Autostart stops working after an update | Each install clears the old startup entry. Toggle autostart off and on once. |
| macOS | "Package is damaged" | A new version was installed while the old one was running, corrupting both. Uninstall cleanly and reinstall. |
| macOS | System-proxy toggle does nothing | Needs admin rights. Security & Privacy → Advanced → untick "require an administrator password to access system-wide settings". |
| macOS | System DNS changes when TUN is on | By design, not a fault: TUN switches DNS to 223.6.6.6 and reverts when turned off. |
| macOS | Crashes on launch | Corporate security software blocking the service install. |
| Linux | Won't install on Ubuntu 20.04 | Needs libwebkit2gtk / libjavascriptcoregtk and the dependency chain is messy. The docs recommend upgrading to 24.04. |
| Linux | Want to run it headless | Not possible — it is a WebView interface. Use the mihomo core directly. |
| Linux | Errors on Wayland with NVIDIA | Set the environment variable WEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER=1. |
| Linux | Title-bar buttons don't respond | Upstream issue. Settings → Interface → disable "prefer system title bar". |
Clash Verge FAQ
Clash Verge download and use
What is Clash Verge?
A desktop Clash client for Windows, macOS and Linux, on the mihomo core, open source (GPL-3.0). It supplies no routes of its own — you import a provider's subscription link. "Clash Verge" today generally means Clash Verge Rev: the original was archived in November 2023, and Rev is the version still maintained.
What is Clash Verge's official site?
The official docs site is www.clashverge.dev, which holds the install guide and FAQs but no installers. Downloads are only on the Releases page of clash-verge-rev/clash-verge-rev on GitHub. Other sites labelled "clash verge official download" are not official.
Is there an Android or mobile version of Clash Verge?
No. It is built on Tauri and exists only for desktop; no Android or iOS build has been released. Use FlClash or Clash Meta for Android on Android, and see the Shadowrocket page for iPhone — the same subscription link works.
How is Clash Verge related to Clash for Windows?
They are separate projects. Clash for Windows is unmaintained and its repository has been deleted; Clash Verge Rev is the mainstream desktop replacement. Both read Clash YAML, so a provider subscription link moves over unchanged.
What's the difference between Clash Verge Rev and Clash Verge?
The original Clash Verge (zzzgydi) was archived in November 2023 and no longer updates; Clash Verge Rev continues it, with the core switched to mihomo. In everyday use, Clash Verge, ClashVerge and clash-verge all now refer to Rev.
Will Clash Verge definitely work with the service I bought?
Not necessarily. Clash Verge only imports generic subscription links; a provider that works only in its own app has no such link. Among providers that do issue a link, whether Clash Verge accepts the format is for the provider to confirm — ask support before you buy.
